J. Brown Funeral Services
Proud to be Amersham's Independent Family Funeral Director
J Brown Funeral Services Ltd are a family owned and run funeral directors, serving Amersham and all surrounding areas 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
As a small independent company we have the flexibility to tailor a funeral package to be exactly as you want it, unlike larger firms.
Jason and his wife Ana are in the office to greet and make service arrangements but if it is more convenient, Jason is happy to come to you. Jason will be there for you every step of the way and will also be there on the day to conduct the funeral and make sure everything goes exactly the way you want it to.
Losing a loved one can be a harrowing experience, Jason, his family and his trained staff not only take care of your loved one with the upmost dignity and respect, we ensure you receive the highest level of guidance, care and support during this most challenging time.
The Second Lockdown
During this time, J Brown Funeral Services will remain open as usual. We have made our office covid secure, adding plastic screens, social distancing and face coverings. Jason is still available for home visits if that is preferred and arrangements can also be made over the telephone/email.
Crematoriums and cemeteries are continuing to operate as they were pre lockdown.

Amersham Spooky Spider Halloween Trail
Well Halloween has been and gone and what a fantastic time we all had. With over 400 children participating, lots in really spooky costumes. Such a welcome break from the strange year that is 2020. So many have requested we make this an annual event, so of course we are going to do so. Thank you to everyone who took part and joined in the fun.
We are pleased that our local crematorium ’Chilterns Crematorium’ will be increasing the maximum number of mourners to 30 from Monday 6th July. Saying goodbye to loved ones is never easy and the Covid-19 pandemic, we know has made things more difficult with tight restrictions on numbers at cemeteries, places of worship and crematoria.
As the hospitality industry is also re-opening this further gives mourners the opportunity for a celebration of the deceased’s life following the funeral service, which may play an important part of the day for many families.
As the nation starts to get back to some kind of normality we here at J Brown Funeral Services have put in place procedures to keep you and ourselves safe. Our office has remained open and staffed throughout the last few months, although most arrangements have been carried out on the phone and through email. We are now seeing families again in the office where we are operating strictly by appointment only. All touch points (door handles etc) are cleaned between appointments and we will wear face masks when needed or requested. We are also offering home visits as we have always done.
New Mobility Vehicle
Because limousines aren't suitable for all our clients, we are pleased to now be able to offer a mobility vehicle for those that need it. Suitable for wheelchair user and up to 3 additional passengers.
We had great fun at the weekend taking part in this years Santa Dash. Held in Hemel Hempstead, the Santa Dash raises much needed funds for the Hospice of St Francis.
Thank you to all those who sponsored us.
Chiltern Toy Bank
It's been a busy year for us at J Brown Funeral Services so it was nice to be in a position to buy some toys for the Chiltern Toy Bank.
Chiltern Toy Bank is a fantastic cause, they provides help to struggling families in the community at Christmas time.
Here we go again!
After raising £520 for Scannappeal back in June this time we are taking on the Mud Pack Challenge raising much needed funds for the Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted. The Mud Pack challenge is 5 miles of muddy, wet fun as we slide, swing, wade and crawl to tackle natural, man-made, and military-style obstacles around the stunning private grounds of Ashridge House. The Hospice of St Francis is a charity that provides free care and support for patients, families and carers affected by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, offering medical care, practical advice and emotional support.
We did it!
It was a cold windy afternoon and the last thing we wanted to do was spend it wading chest deep through muddy water, but we did it! And what a lot of fun it was too.
Thank you to all who sponsored us. With your help Ana and Jason raised £425 for this fantastic Hospice.
